Chino Police officer arrested for child sexual assault. A San Bernardino County School Resource Officer, Matthew Solano, has been arrested for alleged inappropriate acts with two middle school students. The inappropriate conduct took place in the Chino Valley Unified School District. The charges against the 27-year-old School Resource Officer consist of lewd and lascivious acts on a minor, which is a felony, and annoying or molesting a child, which is a misdemeanor.

The Chino Police Department Investigates Reports of Chino Police officer Misconduct

The Chino Police Department (CPD) investigated various reports of two Magnolia Junior High School students being sexually abused by Solano. The investigation lasted many months, finally concluding that there were sufficient findings to arrest Chino police officer Mathew Solano and take him into custody.

Magnolia Junior High School placed Solano on administrative leave and revoked all access he had to school campuses.

Criminal Penalties Matthew Solano May Face

There are two official charges being levied against Matthew Solano, and they come with their own punishments if he is convicted.

1. Lewd and Lascivious Acts on a Minor is a felony charge. If convicted, Solano could be sent to prison and have to register as a sex offender. The charge was in connection with the first victim.
2. Annoying or Molesting a child is a misdemeanor charge, yet still a very serious crime.
