Jacob Demmin Orange County Gymnastics Coach Arrested For Sexual Abuse Of A Minor
Recently, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Detail (SVD) was contacted about Jacob Alexander Demmin. The caller who reached out to them claimed that Jacob Demmin, 25, of Yorba Linda, had groomed at least one minor female and had a sexual relationship with her. The caller was Demmin’s alleged victim. At the time the victim reached out to law enforcement, she was distressed to learn that Demmin was still employed as a gymnastics coach for minor children.
The sexual abuse of minors in youth sports programs is a widespread issue. Students at Ultimate Ninjas Gym May Have Been in Danger While Jacob Demmin Was Employed
After the call, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department SVD investigated the claims and eventually arrested Demmin.
The caller alleges that she was victimized while Demmin was employed at Firestorm Free Running and Acrobatics Gym in 2021. She indicated that he groomed her, had inappropriate communications with her, and then was in a sexual relationship with her while she was underage.
The SVD investigators soon learned that Demmin was no longer employed at the Firestone Free Running and Acrobatics Gym but as a gymnastics instructor at Ultimate Ninjas Gym in Anaheim Hills, CA.
After his arrest, Demmin was booked into Orange County Jail on the following charges:
- Sodomy with a person under 18 years of age
- Contacting a minor with the intent to commit lewd acts
- Sexual penetration with a foreign object
- Annoy or molest a victim under 18
- Unlawful sex with a minor
Considering the length of time that Demmin was around minors and had access to them, SVD investigators suspect that there may be other victims. Once Ultimate Ninjas Gym was alerted about the arrest, they issued a statement indicating the seriousness of the matter. They emphasized the importance of ensuring that everyone associated with their business is aware of the allegations out of “an abundance of caution.”
