Each year, far too many cases of child sexual assault in California schools are reported. Still, despite the thousands of cases that are investigated, there are even more cases that are not brought to light because, for one reason or another, victims decide not to make a report. A recent study by the Center for Gender Equity and Health (GEH) at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine and the nonprofit California Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CALCASA) showed that sexual harassment for women in California is 5% higher than the national average. For men in the state, sexual harassment is 10% more than the national average.
